IDEAL project meeting: a first review and prospects for the follow-up
On Tuesday 4 February 2025, IDEAL members met in La Tremblade to discuss the progress of work after a year of research. The meeting provided an initial assessment of the results achieved and the preparation of the next steps of the project.
One year of research on the contribution of genomic data
Since its launch, the IDEAL project has focused on quantifying the contribution of genomic data to understanding the spread of pathogens affecting molluscs, with a particular focus on the OsHV-1 virus. The analysis of the dynamics of transmission and the evaluation of the methodologies implemented were at the heart of the discussions at this meeting.
A second year marked by a sampling campaign at sea
Discussions also focused on the prospects for this second year, which promises to be rich in activities. Among the next key steps, an offshore sampling campaign will be conducted to acquire new data essential to deepen our analyses and enhance understanding of pathogen transmission mechanisms.
We thank all participants for their involvement and the quality of the exchanges. This collective dynamic is continuing with scientific rigour and commitment, in order to advance research on this crucial theme.
